The No Hate Speech Movement was launched in 2013 to combat hate speech by mobilising young people to speak up for human rights and democracy online and offline. The Movement was co-ordinated by the Youth Department of the Council of Europe until 2017 as part of the Council of Europe Action Plan on the Fight against Violent Extremism and Radicalisation Leading to Terrorism. The Movement has been launched in at least 45 countries and continues to spread across Europe and beyond at the national level.
